A Night at The Nines: A Mix of Dining and Dancing in Juhu, Mumbai

The Nines in Juhu, Mumbai, offers a combination of cosy dining and an energetic dance floor. While the ambience is inviting, the overall experience leaves much to be desired, especially for those looking to groove to Hindi beats. Here’s my take on a night out with friends.

A quantitative review of my experience at The Nines

  • Drinks Included: No
  • Cuisine: Continental
  • Sub-cuisine: Continental
  • Locality: Juhu, Mumbai
  • Price per Person: ₹953
  • Food: 4/5
  • Service: 5/5
  • Ambience: 5/5
  • Repeat Value: No

Summary

Located in the vibrant suburb of Juhu, The Nines attempts to balance dining and nightlife with separate areas for food and dancing. While the food is well-priced and enjoyable, the alcohol prices are steep. The ambience is a definite highlight, with a cosy, elegant setup that makes you feel comfortable yet ready to party. However, the DJ’s preference for English tracks over Hindi tunes felt like a letdown for a night out in Mumbai. Personally, I won’t be returning, as there are better options for a lively night in Andheri.

What I tried

Tender chicken cooked in aromatic spices, balanced and delicious.

Peruvian Chicken at The Nines

Juicy, with a unique blend of spices, though slightly underwhelming.

Tawa Fish Fry: 3.5/5

These buns were perfectly balanced—soft, crispy, sweet, and savory all at once.

Spanish Tiger Prawns at The Nines

Spanish Tiger Prawns: 4.5/5

They were wonderfully soft and flaky on the inside, with a satisfying crispy crunch in every bite.

Dum Biryani: 3/5

Fragrant and flavorful, but the portion size felt lacking.

Peking Hot and Sour Soup Chicken: 3.5/5

Comforting and spicy, but could use more chicken.

Should you Visit The Nines?

If you’re looking for a cozy spot with decent food and love English music, The Nines may appeal to you. However, for a more energetic night with better Hindi music and reasonable drink prices, I’d suggest heading to Andheri West instead. The overall experience didn’t meet my expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend it for a return visit.
